We employed CEC to engineer the deteriorated Jetty 2 at Bullenbaai, which has not been in use for 30 years. They are responsible for the design and calculations of two breasting dolphins, which means that once construction is completed,  two ships will be able to dock at Jetty 2. In addition, CEC has engineered six new mooring dolphins that will be placed in the bay. These will serve as berthing points for seafarers who are in off- season or in-between jobs.

Ours is a good experience, CEC has the expertise needed to calculate dolphins with the strength capacity and flexibility that is needed to withstand the pull and push of a ship. It is important that there are no mistakes in such calculations and that the work is very accurate. I am pleased to say that CEC has met all expectations that RDK has required of them so far.

Although it’s my first time working with CEC on this particular project, RDK has used their services in the past working on numerous projects. Gamal Douglas and I are both engineers so we speak the same technical language. I like their approach. By working closely together we are kept in the loop during the design and engineering process.
